Press release for Will's recent solo exhibit, “Finding My Way: Maps, Grids, Signs” at Gallery Route One, Point Reyes, CA, May 20 – June 26, 2011:
What’s left when you wake from a dream, and how do you find your way back to it? These are the questions posed by Will Thoms in twenty paintings on display at Gallery Route One, starting May 20th. The paintings, done in a variety of materials over the past three years, employ simple forms – grids, signs and fragments of maps – as starting points for experiments with colors and explorations into emotional territory.
